Easier way to select midi CC info?

Have found it a little tedious when I am working with CC's that to select the items, I have to drag through the top of the items. Is there any kind of setting that allows me to select the item from any point of its height?

I'm not sure I get what are you writing, but right-click on the left/right side of item (outside the boundaries) and choose "Select all events"

I think the OP's question is about choosing which CC events to select when dragging over them (not about selecting all CC events). i think the OP would like to select all events that are touched by the drag rectangle, rather than only the events for which the top of the event "bar" lies inside the drag rectangle. I consider the way it works now to be a beneficial feature that allows us to choose which events are selected by drawing the bounds of the drag rectangle at the appropriate values. Is there perhaps a mouse modifier for this, so that the OP can select all CC events that are touched, rather than just the ones whose "tops" are inside the drag rectangle?
